I don’t know the area, but for crappie, the best areas are drop offs, and deep areas near banks. I always have the best luck fishing about 3 1/2ft deep. Using minnows. I also do fairly well using a green jig, but that is in Alabama, so just for finding a spot look for areas in the water that look a little darker right beside a lighter color in the water, the deeper water is darker.
I’d look for some submerged trees and fish them. Depth where the fish will be would all depend on the water temperature.
